I wore my black and white Croft & Barrow hat 

with a Kate Spade dress to go sightseeing in Paris.

 Everyone must take their hats off 

to enter Notre Dame, 

so this sunhat was a good choice.

I decided to pack lightly, 
so I only brought monochromatic dresses to Paris. 

This black and white hat 
matched my dresses, 

kept the sun off of my face 

and made it easy to find me in a crowd.

How To Keep Your Hat On In Windy Weather 

This Scala hat has a thin ribbon 

threaded through the inside. 

The ribbon can be tied tightly 

to make the hat fit snug on the head 

when there is a breeze.

This dress makes me smile.

 The little ladybugs remind me 

not to take life so seriously. 

I think this is a perfect dress 

for a backyard BBQ 
or, as one commenter mentioned,
 a trip to the country club.

What to wear with a Panama hat - J. Crew Panama Hat

I am turning That's a Pretty Hat

into a Panama hat fashion blog today!

I have a very feminine style
and have always struggled with 
styling menswear hats.

Wearing this J. Crew Panama hat 

makes me feel sophisticated and mysterious. 

I like to cast sultry glances 

from underneath my tilted brim.

as part of a totally monochromatic outfit.

I think this new idea of topping a multicolor outfit

with a simple Panama hat

provides a little dose of calm

in an otherwise bright and cheery style -
or mural.

about this hat. 

Wonderful things happen to me 

every time I wear it.

The first time I wore it, 

I received several compliments 

and a man in a truck even stopped 

in the middle of an intersection 

to let me cross the street. 

Arun and I took these photos 

at Frear Park in Troy, NY. 

This beautiful light came onto the flowers 

and made these pictures glow!

provides a luxurious added dimension 

to this hat. 

The neutral color of the hat 

makes it a great accessory 

for the "candy colorized" outfit I chose 

for  Petite Fashion Challenge #17,

has a beautiful print 

featuring fish and other 

underwater creatures.

Maybe this hat and my smile 

encourage people to be at their best 

and help out a stranger.

When Arun first saw me in this sunhat 

he said, "that's so exciting." I agree. 

This pattern is all sorts of colorful and exciting.

I recently brought my Trina Turk sunhat 

to the Long Pond beach 

at Grafton Lakes State Park in Grafton, NY.

 

 The pattern reminds me of 

plants and coral underneath the sea. 

I highlighted one of the hat's many colors 

by pairing it with a solid coverup. 

I chose a beach towel 

with a similar shade of blue.

The beautiful neutral brown color 

of the beach sand is a perfect backdrop 

for such an over-the-top colorful hat. 

A wide brim would be unwieldy in the city, 

but it keeps the sun off my face and neck

perfectly here on the beach.

makes me feel a little romantic.

is showing so much skin,

What Hat To Wear With A Sundress

This is going to be one of my 'Saratoga Hats' that I wear to the Saratoga Racecourse this summer. 

Racing season doesn't start for another month, 
so I decided to wear my new hat 
with a more casual outfit. 

I wasn't sure what to colors to pair with

this purple striped ladies dress hat, 
so I decided to try colorblocking, and paired it with my Delia's eyelet dress in 'Wasabi' green.

This hat makes me feel like a lady. 

The large bow seems so feminine. 

When I was young I visited Disneyland 
with my family. 
My parents let me wear the cap 
with the Mickey Mouse ears. 
When I was wearing it, 
I felt like I belonged. 
Like I was a part of the whole experience. 
I think that my Mickey Mouse hat 
and my excited little girl smile 
helped other vacationers 
get into the Disney mood, too.

When I put on a nice outfit and a 
dress hat like this one, 
I get that same happy, smiley feeling again. 
The world is a beautiful, kind place - and I belong.
