A visit to The Tailored Tea in Latham, NY

Arun and I went to brunch at The Tailored Tea in Latham, NY. 

I wanted to feel feminine and ladylike, so I chose my purple flower Tiane Novati headpiece by Tara Holmes that I found at Anchor No. 5 Boutique in Troy, NY. 

When I first put on the headband with the floral scarf, I said, "Wow!" It seems like something magical happens when I pair the right accessories with a simple dress. I can't quite put my finger on it. I just feel elegant.

A nice lady seated at another table in the tearoom mouthed "Love your hat" to me. I mouthed "thank you" and smiled from ear to ear! I always feel even prettier when I get compliments from strangers.

The half pot of tea is enough for two people. We ordered two different half pots of tea so we could enjoy the second pot with an after-brunch scone. The atmosphere felt like we were in owner Anne Misir's home enjoying a leisurely breakfast with other families.

When we were there, the restaurant was full of multiple generations of families. It is a place that grandmothers and granddaughters both enjoy! There is even a dress up box full of hats for young ladies to wear while they enjoy their tea.

on a recent trip to a local waterfront restaurant.

The Zara lace dress reminded me of 1920 style, 
so I paired it with pearls and my cloche hat.

What Hat to Wear to the Louvre

I wore my new Celine Robert hat to the Louvre!

My best tip for visiting the Louvre in the summer 

is to bring a jacket and wear a sleeveless dress.

It is quite hot and not air conditioned 

in the upper floors and much cooler 

in the lower parts of the museum.

What Hat to Wear to an Engagement Photo Shoot

best engagement shoot photo ideas.

our engagement shoot 

in a beautiful place 

with the best of both worlds - 

the beach and the woods. 

Grafton Lakes State Park 

was the perfect choice. 

I also wanted to wear my 

Ellen Christine 'Gigi' fascinator 

for the first time!

The elastic band 

fit under my updo.

What better way to introduce you 

to my blog photographer Arun 

than to share photos 

from our engagement shoot 

with Tara Wiley photography. 

The 'Gigi' fascinator made me feel 

pretty and a little sassy. 

Tara remarked that I 

"turned on the attitude" 

when I put on the hat. 

With a small tip of my head, 

I could reveal or conceal my eyes. 

It's so tempting to flirt 

and play coy with this hat. 

This type of fascinator 

would be a great choice 

for a confident petite woman.  

The feather draws the eye upward 

and gives the illusion of added height.
