Lilly Pulitzer and Hats at the Carolina Cup

I am a huge fan of Lilly Pulitzer!
I stopped by their "In The Pink" via store
 in Boston on Easter weekend
to get a few bright sundresses for summer.

The service was amazing.
The ladies that work there
were happy to recommend dresses
that worked with my figure.
I was very surprised to find
that some Lilly shifts
are fitted in the waist
and don't make me look shapeless!
The 00 was a perfect fit
and the 0 was only slightly loose.
The dresses are all flatteringly
above the knee,
even though they don't carry petite sizes.

I ended up purchasing
the Parker, the Amberly and the Blossom.

With my new dresses brightening up my closet,
I faced the big question -

What hat should I wear
with my Lilly Pulitzer dress
for track season, a Kentucky Derby party
or a or polo match?

I have found that their prints
match well with a colorblocked cloche hat
(perfect for errands around town)
and, of course, the traditional pairing
with a floppy sunhat.

has photos and video
of ladies in their sunhats
and Lilly Pulitzer dresses
at the Carolina Cup earlier this year.

The Carolina ladies
like pairing their printed dresses
with wide brim, solid color floppy hats
in bright colors.

Check it out here:

The fashion blogger Bah also featured
a few ladies in hats and dresses
at the 2012 Carolina Cup in a recent post.

They seemed to favor
simple, large brimmed hats
without much decoration.

What type of hat do you wear
with a brightly printed sundress?
